  • This course will review the fundamental aspects of ASC 815 as it specifically relates to interest rate exposures and hedging. Participants will review ASC 815 cash flow and fair value concepts, including how to qualify for special accounting treatment, how to calculate and report on derivative fair value methodology, and how to review the ASC 815 approach for compliance, from inception through effectiveness testing/measurement and documentation. We will also share more nuanced interpretations of ASC 815, including insights into recent SEC and FASB pronouncements. This half-day course will cover the following topics:

    This course is designed for accounting, external reporting, and finance or treasury personnel at any level. At the completion of this class, participants will have a good understanding of the fundamental concepts of ASC 815. This course is a good introduction to key concepts in ASC 815 or a refresher to assist participants in understanding their company's documentation, effectiveness testing and journal entries associated with their ASC 815 hedge program. Participants will leave the training with an annotated workbook, a critical reference document for the future.
